We made a place we wanted to exist.

Groundwork started as a simple idea: a cafe that takes its food seriously without taking itself too seriously. We bake everything from scratch each morning - the sourdough, the croissants, the cinnamon rolls - and we brew coffee the way it deserves to be brewed.

We're tucked into a converted old house on Vine Lane in Clifton, and we've kept the wooden floors and high ceilings exactly as we found them. The plants are ours. So is the vinyl player in the corner.

Come for the coffee. Stay because you forgot to leave.
